Mechanical engineering is a diverse subject that derives its breadth from the need to design and manufacture everything from small individual parts and devices to large systems. The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace. So the educational objective of the Mechanical Engineering department is to produce the engineers who have the ability to work professionally in design, thermal and production areas, an ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice and an understanding of professional responsibility. Mechanical engineering in fact is the basis on which all other forms of modern engineering depend fundamentally. Mass, motion, forces, energy, design, and manufacturing – these comprise the world of mechanical engineering. The Department is well equipped with laboratories, Workshop and infrastructural facilities to meet the demands of well-trained and professionally sound mechanical engineers.
